Port Melbourne Tennis Club Rules of Court Etiquette

1. At all times members take preference over visitors and doubles games take preference over singles.
2. If other members are waiting, one set only will be played first to six games. If singles games are in progress on arrival of members who are waiting to play, the set in progress shall be completed before play changes.
3. Flat-soled tennis shoes without heels will be worn on court at all times. Any form of ripple sole, desert boot or shoes which are clearly not tennis shoes will not be permitted. Bare feet are not allowed on court.
4. Neat casual tennis clothing only will be permitted on court. This excludes all forms of jeans, long trousers, bathing trunks and football clothing. Tracksuit trousers and tops are permitted. A top must be worn at all times.
5. No movement is permitted across the back of the court when play is in progress.
6. Courts must be watered and swept before play commences and on the completion of each set and on the completion of play.
7. Members are entitled to invite visitors, however no visitor may use the courts more than once a month unless permitted to do so through prior consultation with the committee.
8. For social play the pairings are under the control of the court captain.
9. The committee has the power to deal with any member for improper contact or for failing to comply with the rules of Court Etiquette.

*Quarterly pro-rata payments are based on the financial year of the club which is from September-August.
